Salome Painted Iridescent Fairy Wings in Green and Purple with Gold Veins

From the 2016 Summer Platinum Edition, the Salome fairy wings painted up in a butterfly-eque pattern of greens with areas of the clear Ultraviolet iridescent film showing through and purplish colored 'eyes'. I had been looking forward to painting this style! I painted them digitally, by hand with a Wacom tablet after studying various butterfly and insect wings for inspiration.

These measure about 39 inches wide roughly at the widest point and are constructed of two separate upper and lower panels, layered slightly for a more realistic look and are more easily posed by gently bending the panels at the angle you wish.

The frame is constructed of a .040" thick cut aluminum sheet that has been powder coated with a gold color for the veins, and laminated with an iridescent film and clear vinyl.
