The Goblin wings were introduced in the 2014 - 2015 Silver Edition line, and are paired here with the Salome lower panels for a fuller version of these wings & have also been upgraded as convertible wings like the rest of the 2018 Ethereal Collection. Part sea dragon and part insect, the Goblin Princess wings are a far cry from the typical butterfly or insect wing featuring petal like tendrils and antennae with a spiky silhouette.
This set has been digitally hand painted by me with an original color patterning that I based on the palette of the Lilac Breasted Roller bird on the clear Diamond Fire base with black veins. Like all painted wings, these have an extra layer of vinyl. The Goblin wing panels have been shortened a little so the new wingspan is about 41 inches wide.
Panels attach with included standard screw bolts and nuts. The upper pan head screw is finished on the outer side with a domed acorn nut, which looks like a flower stamen if flowers are attached to hide the connected area.
I will leave the flowers up to the customer for the meantime, so you can match your outfit. I just use faux flowers from the local Michaels store, torn off from the plastic stem and punched a 1/8" hole to go over the screw end. Then, screw the acorn cap on.
Easy peasy! The closeups show the back of the Fauna wings, though the attachments and brace are exactly the same.
Now, you can wear your wings in resting position by removing the bottom screw if you find yourself in a packed crowd. I suggest removing it while the wings are off, as doing so while they are being worn is tricky and you may drop & lose the screw. Not something to attempt on the dance floor but you're welcome to try - a magnet may be helpful for catching the bolt after removal and a small wrench and / or screw driver may come in handy.
It's now possible to remove all the wing panels for easy transport, or any panels you don't want to wear that day - the antennae, upper panel, and lower panels can each be added or removed.
They can be worn either by tucking them into the back of any very snug outfit, or by wearing them with the included clear elastic straps.
The frame is constructed of a .040" thick cut aluminum sheet that has been powder coated, and laminated with an iridescent film and clear vinyl.
